 | | The Versatile HSD Rotary Screw Compressor from KAESER: Efficient, Powerful, Dependable | |
Double power, double dependability | |
With their exceptional power and performance, KAESER KOMPRESSOREN’s new HSD series rotary screw compressors are the perfect choice for users who require large volumes of quality compressed air. Furthermore, these versatile units ensure maximum system availability thanks to their unique dual compressor design. That’s right, every HSD model comprises two self-contained compressor units each featuring energy-saving "SIGMA PROFILE" airend rotors, an ‘eff1’ rated drive motor, an industrial PC-based “SIGMA CONTROL" compressor controller and high performance fluid separation. With a footprint no larger than a single compressor, this unusual design uses standard components and simple, cost-effective drive systems – unlike gear-driven units – to achieve exceptional efficiency and reliability. In fact, HSD systems are double-equipped with everything you’d find in a single KAESER screw compressor and, like their smaller cousins, integrate all of these features into one compact unit. Needless to say, this clever design provides numerous user advantages: One of the key benefits of course is the ability to provide high delivery volumes of quality compressed air to meet the needs of even the most demand-intensive applications (47 to 86 m³/min). System availability is also optimised, as each compressor section operates completely independently from the other and can therefore also be separately controlled by a master compressed air management system. The HSD’s compact design consequently saves a considerable amount of space, as it means, for example, that only 2 systems would need to be installed instead of 4. Not only that, should the need arise, a single HSD unit can operate as a complete compressed air installation by providing both base- and peak-load compressor functionality. This particularly applies to the SFC (SIGMA FREQUENCY CONTROL) version featuring infinitely variable speed control for one of the twin-compressors which allows compressor power to be precisely adjusted to meet fluctuating compressed air demand.
